Privacy Policy

Summary

Reaction Launcher is a keyboard-driven GIF search overlay. When you search, your browser sends queries to the GIPHY API. We do not operate backend servers that receive your browsing history, GIF selections, or search logs.

Third-party content — GIPHY

All GIFs, stickers, and emoji come from GIPHY. Requests use rating=pg-13. Assets are displayed from GIPHY CDN URLs; we do not re-host or mirror them. GIPHY’s privacy policy applies to their service.

What Reaction Launcher stores locally

• UI language preference (English or Korean) in chrome.storage
• Optional keyboard shortcut settings
• Short in-memory API response cache (about 5 minutes) to reduce duplicate GIPHY calls while you refine a query — cleared when the extension reloads

What is not collected by us

• No developer backend — search queries are not uploaded to our servers
• No account, social feed, or user-generated content
• We do not sell personal data for advertising
• GIF assets and metadata are not persisted on our servers (we have none)

Permissions

Reaction Launcher may request host access to show the overlay and insert GIFs into focused inputs on pages you use, storage for settings, and clipboard access for copy actions. The GIPHY API key is kept in the background service worker only — not exposed to web pages you visit. See the Chrome Web Store listing for details.

Data retention and deletion

Local data remains until you:

• Change settings in the extension
• Remove Reaction Launcher, or
• Clear extension data in Chrome (chrome://extensions → Reaction Launcher → Details → Clear data)

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do.
