Extension: AI Context Extractor (Chrome extension)

Summary

AI Context Extractor reads the active tab’s rendered DOM when you trigger extraction, converts it to Markdown, and copies the result to your clipboard. There is no backend, no account, and no analytics server operated by us.

What stays on your device

  • Page extraction and clipboard copy — performed locally when you press the shortcut or icon
  • Secret masking and length limits applied before copy
  • Toast feedback (grade and estimated tokens) shown only in your browser

What is stored (chrome.storage.sync)

  • Length ceiling and section toggles
  • Header language preference
  • Task label text
  • Other options you set on the Options page

What we do not collect

  • No upload of page body content to developer servers
  • No browsing history, analytics, or sale of personal data
  • No AI Context Extractor account or subscription billing

Permissions

The extension may request activeTab (or equivalent) to inject extraction on user gesture, scripting for on-demand DOM read, clipboardWrite for copy, and storage for settings. See the Chrome Web Store listing for the exact permission set.

Data retention and deletion

Local settings remain until you:

  • Reset options in the extension
  • Remove AI Context Extractor, or
  • Clear extension data in Chrome (chrome://extensions → Details → Clear data)
