Summary
Gmail Unread Cleanup automates marking unread messages as read in Gmail by driving the visible list UI in your browser. We do not operate a backend or upload email body content to remote servers.
What happens locally
- Selects messages on the current Gmail list page and triggers Gmail’s Mark as read control
- For “Mark all read”, paginates through the list until done
- All actions occur in your open mail.google.com tab after you confirm
What is not collected
- Email body content is not sent to developer servers
- No Gmail API / OAuth / account linking
- No browsing analytics or send/read history collection by us
What may be stored
- Extension preferences in chrome.storage (if any) — e.g. UI language or theme
- No storage of message content or recipient lists by this extension
Permissions
The extension may request access to mail.google.com to interact with Gmail list UI, plus storage for settings. See the Chrome Web Store listing for details.
Data retention and deletion
Local extension data remains until you remove the extension or clear its data in Chrome.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do.
