Privacy Policy
Summary
Light of the Word replaces your Chrome new tab with church and stained-glass scenery, a clock, Bible verses, and Scripture cards. The extension runs locally. We do not operate servers that receive your browsing history, and we do not request host permissions.
What Light of the Word stores locally
- Language preference (Korean or English)
- Scripture card draw history on your device (chrome.storage)
What is not collected
- No host permissions — we do not read or modify other websites
- Background images are bundled local files, not loaded from external servers at runtime
- No user tracking, advertising, or sale of personal data
- No account required
Permissions
Light of the Word requests storage to save language and scripture-card settings, and permission to override the new tab page. It does not request broad host access. See the Chrome Web Store listing for details.
Data retention and deletion
Local data remains until you:
- Change settings in the extension
- Remove Light of the Word, or
- Clear extension data in Chrome (chrome://extensions → Light of the Word → Details → Clear data)
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do.
