Summary

MathCast helps you search and copy math symbols and LaTeX while reading online. The symbol dictionary runs locally; we do not operate servers that receive your browsing data.

What MathCast stores

• Shortcut preferences (customizable from the popup)
• UI language choice (Korean, English, or Japanese)
• Optional sync of the above via chrome.storage.sync when you sign in to Chrome

What is not collected

• Search queries are not uploaded to developer servers
• We do not track browsing history or page content
• We do not sell personal data to third parties for advertising
• No account is required

Local processing

Symbol lookups use a dictionary bundled inside the extension. Selected text used for context-aware search stays on your device.

Permissions

MathCast may request host access to read selected text on pages you visit, storage for settings, and clipboard access for copy/replace actions. See the Chrome Web Store listing for details.

Data retention and deletion

Synced settings remain until you:

• Remove the MathCast extension, or
• Clear extension data in Chrome (chrome://extensions → MathCast → Details → Clear data)

Children

MathCast is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do.
