Extension: PromptCart (Chrome extension)

Summary

PromptCart stores text you add to your context cart locally in your browser. We do not operate servers that receive your clips or browsing data.

What PromptCart stores

  • Text snippets you add to the cart (page title, URL, favicon reference, selected body)
  • Cart order, edits, and import/export files you create locally
  • Theme preference (light, dark, or system)
  • Keyboard shortcut settings
  • Optional sync via chrome.storage.sync when signed in to Chrome

What is not collected

  • Cart contents are not uploaded to developer servers
  • We do not track browsing history beyond what you explicitly add
  • We do not sell personal data for advertising
  • No account is required

Permissions

PromptCart may request host access to read selected text and page metadata, storage for the cart, and clipboard access for copy actions. See the Chrome Web Store listing for details.

Data retention and deletion

Cart data remains until you:

  • Remove items manually or use “copy all then clear”
  • Remove the PromptCart extension, or
  • Clear extension data in Chrome (chrome://extensions → PromptCart → Details → Clear data)
