Summary

ReelControl adds playback controls to videos on instagram.com. All processing happens locally in your browser. We do not collect Instagram account information or viewing history. ReelControl is not affiliated with Instagram or Meta.

What ReelControl stores

• Default playback speed preference
• Floating toolbar visibility setting
• Optional sync via chrome.storage.sync when signed in to Chrome

What is not collected

• Instagram account credentials or profile data
• Viewing history or watch time sent to developer servers
• Frame captures are saved to your device — not uploaded by ReelControl
• No account required

Host access scope

ReelControl requests access only to https://www.instagram.com/* so it can attach controls to in-page video. It does not run on other websites.

Permissions

Host permission for instagram.com, storage for settings, and downloads for PNG frame capture may be required. See the Chrome Web Store listing for details.

Data retention and deletion

Settings remain until you:

• Remove the ReelControl extension, or
• Clear extension data in Chrome (chrome://extensions → ReelControl → Details → Clear data)

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do.
