Extension: Find Same Product (Chrome extension)

Summary

Find Same Product helps you search for the same or similar products using images and text from web pages. We do not operate our own image search backend, analytics SDK, or telemetry service.

What is stored locally

  • Extension settings in chrome.storage.sync (synced with your Chrome profile when sync is enabled)
  • Recent search history in chrome.storage.local (device only)
  • Enabled engines, max tab limit, and other Options preferences

When data leaves your browser

Only when you trigger a search: the extension builds each chosen engine’s public HTTPS search URL and opens it in a new tab. Image URLs and search terms are passed to that engine’s normal search page — the same as if you visited the engine directly.

What we do not collect

  • No upload of images or page content to developer-operated servers
  • No browsing history, analytics, or sale of personal data to us
  • No Find Same Product account or subscription

Third-party engines

Google, Microsoft (Bing), Yandex, TinEye, Amazon, Alibaba (AliExpress, 1688, Taobao), Temu, eBay, Naver, Coupang, and others have their own privacy policies when you use their search pages. Review each service’s policy as needed.

Permissions

The extension may request context menus, activeTab, scripting for on-page image detection, storage for settings and recent searches, and tabs to open engine URLs. See the Chrome Web Store listing for details.

Data retention and deletion

Local data remains until you:

  • Clear recent searches or reset Options
  • Remove Find Same Product, or
  • Clear extension data in Chrome

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do.
