Gmail Unread Cleanup

Mark unread Gmail as read — page by page, with confirmation

Gmail Unread Cleanup helps you mark unread mail as read in Gmail. It automates per-page processing in inbox, Promotions, search results, and other list views — and runs only after you confirm.

Uses Gmail’s own Mark as read UI. Does not select thousands of messages at once (the path that makes the read button disappear). Runs locally on mail.google.com — no remote upload of email body.

Features

What you get

✅ Mark this page read

Selects all messages on the current page and runs Gmail’s native “Mark as read” action.

🔁 Mark all read

Repeats: select page → mark read → next page — until the end of the list. Safe pagination instead of one giant bulk select.

📬 Where it works

  • Inbox and label views
  • Promotions and other tabs
  • Gmail search results
  • Any standard message list in Gmail

🛡️ Confirmation first

Nothing runs until you confirm. You stay in control of each batch.

⚙️ Gmail-native actions

The extension drives Gmail’s built-in selection and Mark as read controls — not a hack that hides the toolbar by over-selecting.
